Automotive brand Repco has confirmed backing the television coverage of the 2023 Super Sprint MotorSport New Zealand Championship.
The eight-round series begins this weekend 13-15 January at Cromwell’s Highlands Motorsport Park, with race action broadcast live in both Australia and New Zealand.
Featured in the coverage are the wings and slicks Toyota FT60 cars contesting the Castrol Toyota FR Oceania Championship, the Toyota 86 Series and Golden Homes GT NZ Championship.
TV3 will air coverage on the Sunday afternoon from 1pm.
“Being long-time supporters of motorsport in New Zealand and Australia the Super Sprint series is a natural extension to our portfolio. It follows on from a successful 2022 with the Repco Rally New Zealand and Repco Supercars,” said Elizabeth Cox, General Manager of marketing for Repco New Zealand.
“That it’s being shown live in both countries marks it as a premier product and given the previous success we’ve had with the D1NZ category that joins the series, we know we’re getting a quality result for our brand.”
Content from the Super Sprint series will add to the burgeoning Repco Garage repository of motorsport video memorabilia.
In addition, rental car company SIXT and Dayle ITM have thrown their weight behind the series, providing additional support for the 2023 season.
Super Sprint series head Brendon White says Repco is the ideal fit to headline the televised coverage.
“Repco bring a reputation for being at the front – and that’s exactly what they get with a live televised product. We’re proud to deliver that for them and bring the likes of SIXT and Dayle ITM along for the ride,” said White.
Action at the season opening Highlands round begins on Friday with timed practice sessions, ahead of racing on the Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets for entry are available for purchase online with additional gate entry available. Entry includes access to the Highlands Motorsport museum.
