Revised calendar for 2024 Super Sprint MotorSport NZ Championship season

There will now be seven action-packed rounds on the 2023/24 Super Sprint MotorSport NZ Championship calendar – including two in the South Island.

The season opening Round 1 moves to the new date of 17 November 2023, at the Taupo International Motorsport Park. This avoids conflicting with the final round of Supercars and our broadcast audience lost between Sky TV and Fox Sport.

Action will then resume from 19 January 2024 at Taupo. A new addition to Super Sprint will be hosting the NZ Historic Grand Prix in conjunction with Taupo International Motorsport Park. It will also be the first round for the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship (CTFROC) – A combined showcase of NZ motorsport history and region for our international viewership.

The following weekend (26-28 January) the series moves to Manawatu’s Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon. High expressions of interest ensures the Manawatu will get a great spectacle of classes at this round.

The fourth round of the championship will be held at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park in Waikato 2-4 February 2024.

This round will use the international circuit and will feature five support categories. New event editions will further entice fans and give the event a new flavour – with details to be released in the near future.

The fifth round of the championship heads across the strait and a return to Euro Marque Motorsport Park in Christchurch 9-11 February. This round will feature the Lady Wigram Trophy being contested by the CTFROC. Along with the five support categories is a great local district marketing promotion, utilising the inner city’s precincts for activations in the lead-up and during the event.

The New Zealand Grand Prix will be held at what we regard the global gem for our international audience – Highlands Motorsport Park in Cromwell (16-18 February 2024).

A first for Highlands, it will be a fantastic display of work in conjunction with local councils at one of our top presented venues. The final round of the CTFROC the weekend includes five support categories and additional entertainment.

The seventh and final round of the 2023/24 Super Sprint MotorSport NZ Championship returns to Hampton Downs Motorsport Park 15-17 March 2024.

This round will use the traditional national circuit and will feature four premier support categories for the season grand finale.

All rounds will again be televised live to domestic and international broadcasters and will include extended and on-demand coverage via streaming services. More details on this and the benefits to the motorsport community will be released in the months to come.

The 2023/24 Super Sprint MotorSport NZ Championship will feature all your fantastic classes including the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship, Toyota 86 Championship, The Golden Homes GT New Zealand Championship, TradeZone GTRNZ, TA2 NZ & Super V8s, Valvoline D1NZ, Central Muscle Cars, Napa Formula Ford, Nexen Tyre Mazda Racing Series, BMW Race Driver Series. There are others that will be announced including an expansion to the Super Sprint series operation.
